152 Dolphin Road
Palm Beach, Florida 33480

This remarkable new residence was beautifully conceived by Lebarge & Menard Architects, masterfully built by Beacon Construction, handsomely decorated by H-Interior Design, and artfully landscaped by Neviera Williams. The result is pure perfection, with superbly clean lines, sophisticated detail and designer finishes throughout, in a one-of-a-kind Palm Beach Estate.

Starting with its highly desirable location, this 5-bedroom, 5.1 bath, 2-story residence with 2-bay air conditioned garage and attic storage offers truly easy living, true peace of mind in 5,187+/- total square feet. From its concrete block construction, concrete tile roof, impact windows, full house generator and privacy landscape to its uniquely designed curved white/washed oak staircase with lighted railings and horizontal living room fireplace, vaulted beam ceilings and unifying herringbone pattern washed oak floors, the overall feeling is light, fluid, deceptively simple, with every need anticipated and thoughtfully met.

A sweeping sense of space carries from the terrazo foyer through the open living room, from the dramatic kitchen through the open dining area, from the master suite through to the pool deck, all looking out through sliding glass and see-through French doors. The three upstairs bedrooms open to private wrap-around balconies. This is a floor plan clearly designed to extend indoor living space out of doors.

Dolphin Road, Palm Beach, Florida. This square 1/4+/- acre parcel near the Sailfish Club enjoys Lake Trail access and deeded beach access with a beach cabana just down the street. Ideally situated on a quiet north end street, it is easily accessible to the Michelin star dining and world-class designer shopping along famed Worth Avenue or at The Royal Poinciana Plaza; award-winning golf and tennis at nearby private clubs; and social events at The Breakers, Flagler Museum and Four Arts Gardens. Private banking institutions abound along Royal Palm Way. Private and commercial air service is readily available at Palm Beach International Airport, barely 20+/- minutes away.

The limestone driveway and foot paths precede the residence, on a property defined by twin palms behind a low wall with manicured shrubs in front, artfully trimmed privacy hedges and mature trees on the sides and at the rear of the residence. The focal point in back is a 50' x 15' gas-heated infinity-edge lap pool, punctuated by two rectangles of artificial turf. The elongated pool deck includes a conversation area under cover of a wood pergola, an alfresco poolside dining area defined by Resysta composite flooring and gas-fed barbecue, and a plumbed outdoor shower.

First Floor: Guests are welcomed into a terrazo foyer, dominated by the unexpected lines and contrasting tones of a dramatic white and washed oak staircase. The living room beyond, with its herringbone washed oak floor and paneled wall with horizontal fireplace, provides a wall-to-wall view of the 50' pool through sliding glass doors. East of the living room, the sleek European-style marble kitchen, with its Gaggeneau induction cooktop, Miele appliances and hidden storage, yields to an open dining area with vaulted ceiling and French door access to alfresco dining by the pool. Rimadesio sliding doors in the kitchen hide an exterior door and garage access. West of the living room, the expansive master suite, with its huge walk-in closet, full bath with double vanity, soaking tub and walk-in shower, and vaulted-ceiling bedroom enjoys French door pool access. West of the foyer is a powder room and a spacious ensuite guestroom.

Second Floor: A curved staircase with lighted railing leads the way to a shared second floor living room, with a balcony that overlooks the pool. Two westside bedrooms, an eastside bedroom and a laundry room are clustered around that living room. The three bedrooms all feature vaulted ceilings, ensuite baths and French door balcony access.

Palm Beach

The Island of Palm Beach has long been the resort community of choice for the social elite. With miles of pristine sugar sand beaches, exclusive clubs, incomparable estate compounds, designer shopping along Worth Avenue and Michelin-quality dining, life on this barrier island is unlike anywhere else.

Here quiet opulence is the order of the day…and life revolves around its unique village center. Many aspire to its lifestyle. Most were born to it. Long a haven for old money, captains of industry and political scions, it is the East Coast answer to Malibu, Cannes and Lake Como all rolled into one…where mega-yachts are de rigueur, and the social calendar dictates events at such landmark resorts as The Breakers and Mar-a-Lago.

It began with the 1878 wreck of the ship Providencia, which set sail from Havana with coconuts bound for Barcelona. When the ship serendipitously washed ashore on what is now Palm Beach, early settlers planted those coconuts to launch a commercial enterprise. The palm trees flourished. The coconut business floundered. But by 1880, word of this superlative spot had spread north and the establishment of the Coconut Grove House Hotel was the early response to incipient tourism.

By the mid-1890’s the railroad had arrived, and Henry M. Flagler had opened both his Royal Poinciana Hotel and oceanside Palm Beach Inn, destined to be renamed The Breakers.

100+ years of graceful evolution later, Palm Beach is now an incorporated town separated from neighboring West Palm Beach by the Intracoastal Waterway. The easternmost town in Florida, it covers about 10.4 square miles, of which only 3.9 square miles is land! It is home year ’round to 9,000 fortunate few, with an additional 20,000 who winter there “in season.”

Today Palm Beach is a community with an elected Mayor and City Council, an active historic preservation society, highly active charitable organizations, 3 miles of superb public beaches, the world’s finest shopping on Worth Avenue, multiple country clubs with award-winning golf and tennis facilities, The Flagler Art Museum, Four Arts Gardens, innumerable private banks lining Royal Palm Way, and the remarkable Palm Beach International Airport barely 15 minutes away.

The city of West Palm Beach, which began as an adjunctive service community for Palm Beach, has itself developed into a vibrant neighboring community just across the bridge on Flagler Way. From Kravis Center opera and theatrical entertainment to diverse clubs, restaurants, and galleries on Clematis Street and the exceptional El Cid historic residential district, the energy of this adjacent section of West Palm Beach has made it the natural choice for affluent active professionals.

Four prominent architects each had a hand in influencing what is known today as Palm Beach architecture…Addison Mizner, Maurice Fatio, Marion Sims Wyeth, and John Volk. The unmistakable styles they created, from Mediterranean Revival to Tropical Georgian, became the hallmark of Palm Beach architecture.
